Customers are increasingly demanding that contractors reduce the environmental impacts associated with construction and engineering. Procurement teams are shifting their focus towards Sustainable Procurement. Their goal, to select suppliers with the most positive environmental, social and economic outcomes.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has published several reports with informative titles such as, “Shaping the Future of Construction – A breakthrough in Mindset and Technology and Inspiring Innovators to redefine the industry”.

The WEF report “Future Scenarios and Implications for the Industry” concluded that “Current business models, strategies and capabilities will not be sufficient, in any of these future worlds.”

Our own research has suggested that around 85% of SHE, SHEQ, HSE…. Managers and Advisers have no environmental qualifications. It seems sector practice has been to just add an ‘E” to the job titles of H&S professionals.  Effectively, giving them the responsibility without the knowledge and skills to fulfil those responsibilities.

In the UK, The Farmer report into the UK Construction Model concluded that the sector needed to “Modernise or die”.

The message is loud and clear.  The Construction and Engineering sectors need to rapidly adapt to a fast-changing world.

This environmental training course helps accelerate that change by demonstrating how to minimise energy and resource use, protect and enhance biodiversity and prevent pollution.

If you are looking for a training course that covers environmental management in construction in more depth than the CITB SEATS course, then this is the course for you.
